DRC – FACULTY INSURANCE CERTIFICATE OF IMPORTATION

In accordance with the new regulations in force on 07.05.2021, all imports into the DRC must be accompanied by import faculty insurance certificate which covers goods transported from their place of departure to their destination.

If an insurance certificate is not presented according to the law of the code of insurance it states that any violation of the provisions of article 233 of this law is punishable by a fine of 5,000,000 to 10,000,000 Congolese francs (Article 237 of the Insurance Code).

From 5 July 2021, DGDA will start controlling to see if there is an insurance certificate as it is a mandatory insurance to have in the DRC. The insurance certificates must be issued by local insurance companies and no longer those abroad.
