KENYA – New Customs clearance system after July 7th, 2019

Dear Partners,

Please note that Kenya will introduce a new customs clearance system effective for all shipments arriving or departing from any Kenyan port / airport after 7th July 2019. See attached public notice from Kenya Revenue Authority here: [download id=”3524″]

Since the new system is already live we have been putting a few shipments through early to familiarise ourselves. Currently it is slower than the previous system, but we believe these are teething problems only.

Please be aware that you might experience some delays on clearance for your shipments arriving in Kenya after 7th July, but be informed that we are doing everything possible now to understand the new system and to be ready when full roll out happens on 7th July.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact Mr. Matthew Thonger (+254 (0) 770 504293) or Mr. Paul Ogero ( both of Heavy Industry Logistics Ltd, member of ALNA representing Kenya.

Thank you so much to Heavy Industry Logistics Ltd. for sharing this news with ALNA members!
