SENATOR INTERNATIONAL, member of Airfreight Logistics Network for Africa representing South Africa, has donated 100 ventilators to Chennai in India and organized the transport. Background of the action is the further aggravated situation on the subcontinent. Many clinics complain about a lack of necessary equipment.
Therefore, SENATOR INTERNATIONAL decided to donate 100 urgently needed ventilators and to organize the transport itself. The shipment was picked up in Las Vegas. From here the equipment was shipped to Greenville-Spartanburg (South Carolina). In order to obtain import authorizations for the cargo, fast and coordinated work was required from all the employees involved. This task was mastered brilliantly with a high level of commitment.
The transport from Greenville-Spartanburg (GSP) to Frankfurt (FRA) was carried out with the self-controlled flight (“SAB” SENATOR Atlantic Bridge). The onward transport from Frankfurt to Chennai (MAA) was carried out by Lufthansa. All costs for the equipment, transportation and customs clearance amounting to approx. 200,000 Euro were borne by SENATOR INTERNATIONAL. On July 14, 2021, SENATOR INTERNATIONAL officially handed over the equipment to the Chief Minister of the Government of Tamil Nadu.
The action is a prime example of solidarity and drive in times of pandemic.
