ALN & ALNA IN LUA INTERVIEW: QUALITY OVER FEES

Africa Logistics Network and Airfreight Logistics Network for Africa are proud to share that their Chairman, Marcello Saponaro, was recently featured in the May–June 2025 issue of Logistics Update Africa.
In the in-depth interview, Mr. Saponaro highlights the continued growth and vision of both networks, which now count over 330 members combined. As the industry evolves and the number of freight forwarding networks increases, he emphasizes the importance of quality over quantity and staying away from what he calls “membership-fee machines.”
“It’s time for quality networks in an ocean of membership-fee machines,” he states, outlining a clear path forward for ALN and ALNA, one that prioritizes authentic collaboration, dedicated support and high-value services for its members.
The Chairman also confirmed that the upcoming 11th ALN and 6th ALNA Annual Meetings will take place in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, from November 9th to 12th, 2025, following the successful 2024 edition held in Bangkok. The next meeting will once again blend one-on-one and joint sessions, with one full day exclusively for each network and a shared day designed to foster synergies.
On the digital side, Mr. Saponaro shared updates on upcoming technological enhancements, including new platforms for both ALN and ALNA, automation of event banners and tools that will streamline communication and engagement across the networks.
With the rise of new networks in the logistics and freight forwarding industry, the focus on long-term value, innovation and genuine member engagement positions ALN and ALNA as trusted partners for freight forwarders aiming to thrive in a competitive and increasingly selective market.
