From 1st June 2018 adjustment of rules of Chinese Customs

Please kindly be advised that the General Administration of Customs China (GACC) has issued Announcement No.56 [2017]to adjust the manifest rules of import and export in the country.

The adjusted rules, to be effective on 1st June, 2018, will include the following key points for close attention in future documentation work:

1. Manifest submissions must be made 24 hours prior to loading
2. Cargo Description must be complete and accurate
3. The full contact details of Shipper and Consignee (or the Notify Party if Consignee is To Order) are mandatory, including the Enterprise Codes.

Example of Enterprise Code:
 China- USCI (Unified Social Credit Identifier), OC (Organization Code)
 UK – Company Number, VAT Number
 USA – CIK (Central Index Key), EIN (Employer Identification Number).

For import shipment arrival China from 1st of June, 2018, Shipper and Consignee on both House and Master BL/AWB, need to show the full contact details as mentioned above.

This effectively means that for all air export shipments from China as of 1st June 2018, the consignee tax I.D must be provided at time of shipment booking with China offices.
Consignee tax I.D info will now form part of the China Customs export declaration at time of air export processing prior to actual air export uplift. To avoid any delays, please request this info from clients and include this mandatory info for any new bookings with China hereafter.
